So, someone who inspired my beliefs. Well, actually that person in no way has ever intentionally encouraged my belief in Jesus Christ.  I met him freshmen(man??) year in history class.  I had never talked to him before so I tried to find a little ice breaker question.  I was like, “so, I hear you’re pretty smart”.  He looked at me like I was a moron and told me that being smart is relative.  I had no idea what he was talking about and I never brought that subject up again.  Well, until this year when I sat next to him in an english class. (probably the most boring class I have ever been in) So, I don’t know how we got on the subject- well, actually how I got on the subject because he never talks so I must have said enough to get him irritated or I struck a nerve-so, I said something about life being wonderful.  He told me there’s no reason to live.  I said there was.  He told me that everything is relative.  The bell rang and I almost smacked myself for not telling him what to live for.  Well, I got another chance to tell him the next day.  I informed him that one can live for God and that it will give you the most satisfaction.  He said that God is relative and everything I said he claimed was relative and let’s just say it’s a very tiring conversation.  Well, to get to the point, this boy has had the biggest impact in my walk with Christ- I have never been so challenged before.  He constantly throws up points and questions that I can’t answer and have forced me to go deeper.  I have to admit, some of the time he does really make me think.  My parents and youth leaders have, of course, always been big influences on my knowledge and such with Christ, but it’s a whole bunch different when I have to actually stand up and have a decent answer.  I also must add, the boy has no hope in his life and is constantly depressing- that also reminds me why a life with Christ is SO much more fulfilling and the right thing.  All though he has helped me with all this, it hurts me to death to see him and the other people around me so lost and yet oblivious to it.  When I tell them my reasons, they always think I’m joking because my “ideas” are so religious or whatever.  Well, I hope you pray for my friend and the other people at my school and your school/workplace/city/state/country/continent/world, ok?  Thank you.  Oh, for the picture, I don’t think I should put one of him up-especially since I don’t have one, so, have a nice day.  Thank you.

  1. your leaders understand about trouble with computers and lucky for you your ministry will be with people. Thanks for taking the time to write something and making the attempt to post a picture.

  2. I was being sarcastic about the “touching” story, but most of the blogging does consist of something along the lines of that. The assignment is this:

Write about a significant event in your life that shaped your beliefs, or a person that inspired them.

Please watch the video for more in depth instructions.

  3. Such an awesome story! I agree that the people who help our faith become real are the ones who ask us questions. I look forward to sharing The Answer to the lost with you in Ireland!
