This week's director blog is pretty straight forward. I have an
assignment for each of you. This past year at an AIM training camp I
was
challenged by one of the presenters when they spoke about daily prayer
partners.

The speaker has a different person for each day of the week
that they pray for, and in turn, that person prays for them. The two partners make sure to make some kind
of contact on that day either by phone, text message, e-mail,
facebook….whatever way works. Week after
week they pray for one another. I
thought that this whole thing was genius!

This last year I have attempted to implement this in my
life. I can't say that every week the
communication has been the best, but the prayer has been great. It has also been great having seven people in
my life that I know are always praying for me.
An added benefit has been that I have been able to go into deeper
relationship and accountability with a few of my prayer partners.

Many of the people who I pray for and pray for me do not
live near me. Nor are they people that I
see on a daily or even weekly basis, they are just people that I know will,
without a doubt, be in prayer for me.

I really believe that all of us need people willing to be in
prayer for us, not just when we are out serving on mission. I see this as something that you can have as
a support while you are on your mission trip, but also something that can
continue long after your trip is done.

So here is the assignment:
Find seven people (one for each day of the week) that would be willing
to pray for you on a specific day of the week.
Then commit to them that you will pray for them on that same day. Set up how you will communicate prayer
request with each other, as well as praises.
After you have done all of that, comment here on this blog that you have
completed the assignment. I think that
if you see this not so much as work, but as a practice that can enrich your
prayer life and engage in prayer for someone else you can have a lot of fun
with it. I know that it has been a
rewarding practice for me in my life.
