Hey guys! On your packing list, we accidentally left off a dark blue or black bandana that you will need at training camp! Please be sure you bring one with you!
Corey and I will be getting more to you about packing very soon. We are waiting to finalize some details and then will send you/post a comprehensive list of what to bring with you.
IN THE MEANTIME…
Have you thought about bringing a hiking-size backpack instead of a suitcase? Check out this link – http://www.trailspace.com/gear/guide/backpacks.html. It has lots of information about good packs. I know many of you were concerned about how to pack a sleeping bag and all your personal items in one pack. These packs are totally designed for that! For our trip, a pack that holds 4,000 to 5,000 cubic inches should be big enough. If you pack light, try 3500 cubic inches. Good brands are Osprey (expensive, but good), Kelty (inexpensive and good), REI (easy to find). The same website I listed above has information on different packs and customer reviews… the most important part!
This is not a necessity by any means. But if you are worried, this could help! These packs do cost, and are definitely an investment – not a one time fun item. However, any of you who are considering doing missions in the future should DEFINITELY check into this.
I’ll post more info on more packing tips soon!!!
